Wellbeing Team

The Wellbeing Team focus mainly on leading the spiritual life of the College and supporting the wellbeing of our school community. We lead devotions, chapel services, spiritually enriching groups/workshops and promote connections with local churches and youth groups. We also provide 1:1 support and support groups, alongside other staff members, to assist in the overall wellbeing of our school community, referring to external support services where necessary. We connect with and celebrate the students and staff throughout the year in many ways. It’s a pleasure to serve the Lighthouse community!

Wellbeing Support:

The Wellbeing Team provide 1:1 and group catch ups with students who have been referred to us for pastoral care. The process for receiving this type of support is generally as follows:

– The Homeroom Teacher is the first point of contact for a student needing support.

– The Homeroom Teacher discusses with the Year Level Coordinator/Director of School and Head of Student Wellbeing and completes a Referral Form if deemed necessary. This is then sent to the Head of Student Wellbeing.

– The Head of Student Wellbeing refers to the relevant Chaplain or Counsellor the completed Referral Form, if deemed appropriate for Chaplaincy or Counselling Support.

– The relevant Chaplain or Counsellor makes time to work with the student, as soon as possible, in consultation with the teacher whose class they might be missing from to attend.

– The relevant Chaplain or Counsellor will ensure that the student or parent/guardian have signed a Consent Form. If a student or parent were to approach a Chaplain directly for support, a Consent Form will need to be completed. If needed, the Chaplain will refer the student to an external agency for professional support.
